In this 60 minute concert/lecture, David weaves music, quantum physics, resonance and inspiration to demonstrate the power of the inner experience. Featuring music by Bach, Arvo Pärt, Swami Kriyananda, Paramhansa Yogananda, David Eby, and others. David is joined by Nick Rytlewski, piano.

This will be a concert unlike anything ordinary.

For in this Beyond the Notes concert, the audience and performers will join forces to explore the connection between performer and composer, audience and performer, and ultimately, the circuit of energy created in a performance orchestrated for your spiritual experience.

Just as the observer has a direct effect on the behavior of an electron in quantum mechanics, we will be exploring how your unfocused mind, your critical mind, and your receptive mind interact and affect the performance as you listen.

Our ultimate goal is to awaken resonant awareness through inspired music and meditative awareness.

I first experienced resonant awareness coming home from an awful rehearsal one dark and rainy night 20 years ago. I was drenched in misery as I entered the tunnel and made my way up Highway 26. But then I sang a simple, 40-second song by Swami Kriyananda.

What happened next changed my life forever.

My misery was completely gone, replaced by an unbidden dynamic inner experience that defied rational explanation. I had to pull over. How did this simple melody change my consciousness more than anything else in my whole musical career?

From that night on I have been exploring how to recreate the conditions for resonant awareness in all its infinite variety.

Resonant awareness is your inner response to the spark of inspiration within music. It is an inner experience of energy, vibration, feeling or flow. We speak of it all the time:

• That struck a chord in me.
• I really resonate with that.
• I was deeply moved.

In this Beyond the Notes concert we will use a simple meditative awareness technique to help remove any dampening tendencies of constriction, resistance, and fixed preconceptions that may limit your musical experience.

When you allow resonant awareness to reverberate within your energy and consciousness, you expand and amplify the sparks of inspiration and higher consciousness that are present within every piece performed this evening. Your resonant awareness will interact with that of others in the audience and onstage. Together, we will create a dynamic experience of energy and higher consciousness.
